The island of murano in the lagoon of venice is world-renowned for its kaleidoscopic glassware, which dates back to the 13th century. This extraordinary art form, bursting with colour and sculptural verve, was a natural match for our aesthetic. Pushing the boundaries of this centuries-old tradition, colville has created a small series of contemporary glass marble vases, inspired by the form of a bowling ball with three apertures. Each piece is a one-off and handblown by a specialist murano-based glass-maker. Their swirling patterns were also the inspiration behind our marble print, which echoes the hypnotic beauty of the glass.
