Description

Our lightening cylinder midi bag is woven by the wayuu tribeswomen of northern colombia following a craft technique that stems back to the spanish missionaries who came to america during the colonial period. This weaving method carries a great deal of meaning and evinces a sense of heritage, spirituality and community. It plays a vital role in supporting the local economy by providing a sustainable income for families. The zig-zag design, rendered here in cobalt blue, fire engine red and emerald green reflects joy and a deep-felt connection to the land. The bag is assembled in our specialised italian atelier and is finessed with a robust top handle in black leather as well as a detachable lemon/lime cross-body strap. All the leather used on this bag is metal-free and sustainably produced to minimise environmental damage.
