Colville was founded in 2018 by Molly Molloy and Lucinda Chambers. Molly Molloy worked as Design Director at Marni, joining the company in 2006 as Head of Womenswear and went on to become Design Director of Womenswear. During her time at Marni, Molly also was co-editor of the bi-annual publication Parterre de Rois. Lucinda Chambers is a London-based creative consultant and stylist. She worked at British Vogue as fashion director for 25 years, before founding Colville. Lucinda has played a key part in establishing many luxury fashion brands, including Prada and Marni from its inception.

With their many years of industry experience combined, Molly and Lucinda established Colville: a brand leading the antithesis of fast fashion. Colville’s passion flows from principles of individuality and sustainability, with clothing that - despite the sustainability and awareness behind it - still sparks the imagination. Colville's collections embrace the concept of ‘more is more’ and are bold, colourful, striking and surprising - Molly's creative past is clearly visible - but also feminine and even slightly ‘tough’. Employing layers of colour, texture and pattern, each item - whether it is clothing, accessories or homeware - is a feast for the eyes and a welcoming invite to the world of Colville’s dreamy maximalism.

While Colville’s first focus is fashion and accessories, Colville also carries a great range of interior pieces and furniture. Colville’s poufs and shaggy rugs are made from wool and are dyed using natural ingredients. Their 100% wool blankets are of the highest quality and lift up any environment. Colville works with an old and authentic Italian mill, focusing on craft and tradition which explains the immaculate quality of the blankets. Founded in 1795 in Veneto, Colville’s mill remains family-run and applies traditional materials and techniques first introduced to Northern Italy by Cistercian monks in the Middle Ages. It remains a bastion of quality, dedicated to authenticity and luxury.

Colville’s shaggy poufs are crafted from a thick and shaggy lambswool and mohair mix, and finessed with a hornbeam frame. They are made by a community of Turkish weavers that Colville works closely with to promote and support ancient craft traditions. The entire production process, from spinning the wool to creating the patterns on handmade looms, is organic and sustainable. Yarns and fabrics are washed with organic olive soap and coloured with vegetable dyes, meaning that the whole process is 100% kind to the environment. Each Colville pouf is unique.

Since the beginning, Colville has worked closely with independent social projects for women in Dakar, Colombia and Morocco. Colville is dedicated to craftsmanship. Involving communities worldwide to give women their independence and working together with local artists and performers aiming to keep authentic crafts alive. “We love craft and the skills of making, and we value the people who use them to contribute to the world.”

Upcycling remains an important part of the Colville offer. Though often challenging as an endeavour, Colville believe that it is their responsibility to commit to finding use from fashion’s growing waste. New investigations by the Colville team revealed the alarming quantities of discarded jeans, and so this season, a special upcycled T-shirt and matching joggers are crafted in denim - both nod to an exciting, and vital, forthcoming collaboration between Colville and Lee.
