Description
As the largest producer of jute in the world, India has a rich tradition of both hand woven and naturally dyed fibers going back generations. Locally sourced and spun into yarn, these handmade strands are woven into flat dhurries by skilled artisans.
In collaboration with crafts based communities in southernIndia, we have developed a technique of folding, rolling, and dipping these simple carpets in natural, plant based dyes to achieve bold geometric designs. Materials such as Indigo, pomegranate peels, catechu, “flame of the forest” flowers or madder root produce rich colors that are both beautiful and 100% organic.

Care instructions
Tuck in loose ends or snip with scissors and knot ends. Do not pull on loose threads. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Rotate every 2–4 months to prevent excessive wear and exposure in one area. To store, roll and then wrap with a cloth for protection. Do not store in plastic or a sealed environment. If the dhurrie gets wet, let it air dry on a flat surface.
Vacuum regularly on a low setting without the rotating brush. The bristles may loosen fibers or create otherwise unwanted wear. Blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth. Then spot clean as needed using a cloth and water to gently scrub out the stain. Avoid harsh chemical cleaning products as these could damage the natural fibre or fade the natural dyes. Professional cleaning is recommended for stubborn spills and stains.
